Etan Out, Tony In?

It looks like Tony Massenburg will get his chance to return to the NBA after all. Etan Thomas will miss the season after undergoing heart surgery yesterday. The Washington Post reports:

However, there aren't many free agent big men available -- veteran P.J. Brown, who played with Chicago last season, still hasn't landed with a new team -- and Wizards Coach Eddie Jordan said he is comfortable with his current group, which includes starter Brendan Haywood and reserves Andray Blatche, Darius Songaila, Oleksiy Pecherov, & Tony Massenburg.

The Wiz can either keep Massenburg, or sign a free agent for 50% of Etan's salary. I would guess that there aren't many good players making 50% of what a backup center (Etan) makes. PJ Brown would be great to have, but I think we may end up with Tony M.

Jamon Gordon & Willie Dean were both cut, leaving Massenburg the only remaining member of the lawfirm of Gordon, Dean, & Massenburg.
