Draft Misery 2002: Juan Dixon

Written By Chris C-Ford ---- Thursday, June 18, 2009

With the 17th pick in the 2002 NBA Draft the Washington Wizards select: Juan Dixon, Guard, Maryland.

Juan Dixon was a local basketball star. He led Maryland to the championship after an amazing Final Four. Since the Wiz are located in ACC country, and close to Maryland, it was only natural that Dixon became a fan favorite.

Dixon was very streaky for the Wizards, but would bring an energy to the game that was important. He had some clutch games and some key 3 pointers. But after 3 years, the Wizards failed to re-sign him and he joined the Portland Trailblazers where he ended up starting a bunch.

Diagnosis: Solid Role Player Draft Choice

Where Is He Now:

After playing for the Blazers, Raptors, & Pistons, Dixon is once again on the Wizards with a minimum contract. We will have to see what happens this offseason as Dixon could easily be gone by the start of next season.
