Kirilenko Wants To Play In Russia?

Bullets Forever brought to my attention the talks about Andrei Kirilenko (Ivan Drago) coming to the Wizards. I think It would be an amazing pickup, even though Kirilenko is a baby, has no heart, and is a C-Unit (as Jerry Sloan would say).

However, all these talks may be for nothing as the Deseret Morning News of Salt Lake City has some bad news. Kirlenko wants to play in Russia with his friends from Eurobasket!

"I want to do what I enjoy doing, and I think the emotions that I experienced with the national side are worth going back to Russia and playing there for Russian supporters," Kirilenko told the Sports Express newspaper in Russia, which has both English and Russian editions, in a story published Thursday.

I assume this is some kind of Lost In Translation comment (with more laughs than the movie). But if it is not, then Kirilenko is crazy.

Kirlenko is like a kid at summer camp. Let's call him little Andre. Jerry Sloan is the camp bully. Let's Call him Jerry Sloan. Every day Sloan verbally abuses Kirlenko, gives him a hard time, and makes fun of his girly name. Little Andre comes home to his mommy and tells her "I never want to go back to camp" and cries for hours on end. So next summer, little Andre gets to stay in Russia where people won't harass him if he gives 20%.

What the hell does that mean? I have no idea. No matter, Kirlenko will be back in the NBA next year.
