Mack Strong Retires

Written By Chris C-Ford ---- Tuesday, October 9, 2007

There are 3 ways of doing things. The right way, the wrong way, and the Mack Strong way!

Two years ago after NFL week 1, my girlfriend who was new to fantasy football, dropped Joey Galloway and picked up Mack Strong. Strong had one of his 5 career touchdowns the first week and was on top of the list for free agents based on total season points.
After seeing this transaction, the fantasy league community went crazy. A barrage of message board posts, emails, and face to face criticism of both my girlfriend and myself followed. Mack Strong was the talk of our league ever since. It made him a fantasy hero, and led to the "Who scored less than Mack Strong this week" category in fantasy football.

Many people had never heard of Mack Strong. No, Mack Strong is not the name Homer picked when he changed his name. (That was Max Power, he got it off a hair dryer) A pro-bowl fullback, he played the 14 years of his career entirely on the Seattle Seahawks. You may possibly remember his 32 yard run against the Redskins in the playoffs 2 years ago.

Sadly, Mack Strong has suffered a minor neck injury and has decided that his family is more important than sustaining further neck damage. He had chosen to retire. He will be missed, and he will be the official fullback of this web blog. Mack, you can lead me into the hole anytime...
