Just when it seemed the three team trade putting Chris Paul on the Lakers was a done deal the NBA has decided that this trade will not happen. Apparently David Stern is like the president and can veto anything. Although there aren't many checks & balances here so he is more like a dictator. I'm not sure how they can do that but I'm sure we will read about it tomorrow.
He didn't technically veto the trade, but he basically made the Hornets GM cancel the trade...a few broken legs perhaps...
After this season is over, Chris Paul becomes a free agent and he will leave the Hornets. In turn the Hornets will get nothing in return, a total waste of value. In the deal that was in place they were getting a decent player in Luis Scola, Lamar Odom, and Kenyon Martin, now they have a disgruntled CP3.
There are other possible exterior motives involved here. The Hornets are owned by the league and Stern wants to sell the team. I guess Chris Paul on the team would attract owners.
Tomorrow is going to be nuts! NBA IS BACK!
I really hope they officially ended the lockout already.....that would suck if this f'd everything up
