So Chris Paul & Kobe Bryant Are On The Same Team

Written By Chris C-Ford ---- Thursday, December 8, 2011

It has been a crazy few weeks for big name players switching teams. Jose Reyes is on the Marlins. Albert Pujols is on the Cardinals. Caron Butler (big name in DC) is on the Clippers, and...AND...and...Chris Paul is on the Lakers!?

The initial reports out of Twitter land are that Chris Paul was traded from the Hornets for Lamar Odom and Pau Gasol. I thought the Lockout and the new deal were supposed to prevent crap like this.

This isn't exactly as insane as a Kwame Brown style trade, but come on. Lamar Odom is like 1 second away from retiring. Gasol is OK but older and without Kobe? There may be a 3rd team, the Rockets, involved on the Hornets end of the deal with Luis Scola but how could the Hornets not get Bynum who at least has a longer future. Where are they relocating to next? Seattle?

Oh I think I figured it out. The Lakers need Bynum. They need him so they can trade him to Orlando for Dwight Howard...what awful news. At least the Lakers are in the West and getting Howard out of the East would be nice.

In other news, the Dallas Mavericks won the NBA Championship last year with 1 star player, defeating the Heat who had "3".
