Turiaf Comes To DC Bearing Gifts, Chandler In NY To Be A Grinch

Written By Chris C-Ford ---- Saturday, December 10, 2011

It's Official.  Ronny Turiaf is now a member of the Washington Wizards.  The 7th year player from Gonzaga will come to the Wizards, while Tyson Chandler land in New York, and a 3rd player, Andy Rautins (who!?) will end up in Dallas. The draft rights of 2 no-name foreigners Ahmad Nivins and Giorgos Printezis will also go to NY via Dallas. (Inside Hoops)

But don't worry, Turiaf will not be flying to the district alone.  He will be bringing with him a sack full of cash as well as a 2013 second round draft pick.

So what are the Wizards giving up for this guy?  A conditional 2nd round pick which will go to the Mavs.  I have no idea how this trade makes sense.  The Wiz get a 2nd rounder and give up a conditional 2nd rounder.  The Wiz get cash.  The Wiz get a player.

Whatever, I'm not complaining.  Turiaf will bring more force and talent to the big man position...haha that shouldn't sound exactly right but with 2 clumsy big men on the roster in Seraphin & Ndiaye, he should be able to step in and make a difference.  And he comes to the Wiz for basically nothing.  Good move.
