Wednesday: Wizards Training Camp Day 6
The Wizards continued training camp on Wednesday, and as you probably already know or assume, without Nick Young. Truth About It describes a scene at training camp where Andray Blatche kind of shrugs off a coach and shows his attitude.
"Surely, it can’t be indicative of his approach to the 2011-12 season; not when trainers, players and coaches are all singing the same tune — the big guy is poised to have a breakout season. And yet I wonder: are we still watching the Blatche of Christmas past?" --Truth About It
To answer the question posed I will give a scenario. It is Christmas Eve and Andray Blatche turns himself into a ghost. He visits Ebeneezer Scrooge as the ghost of Christmas past, present, and future, and influences Scroodge to change his evil ways. After he does that, Blatche saves 100 nuns, 50 puppies, and 25 orphans from a burning building. Finally he earns the hard hat every day at practice until the season begins. Sounds Great!
Right after all that, I guarantee the first moment that he is in a game when he dribbles off his foot on a terrible behind the back move, Flip will take him out of the game. Andray will not go to the bench and vow to never do it again. He will sit at the end of the bench whining about it and then go back in the game later and slack off because he is mad.
This morning, Flip Saunders shrugged off questions from the Junkies about Andray's head, saying that Blatche was playing well and his head was in the right place. I don't buy it.
On a positive note, John Wall gets the Hard Hat...
