A few hours after the news broke that JaVale McGee and Nick Young were traded, the Wizards, led by John Wall's 26 and 12, defeated the New Orleans Hornets in the NO. The Hornets are far from a good team but it was nice to see the Wizards with a big lead (that they gave up with a 17-2 run) but the Wizards actually were in control the whole game.
With Young out, Roger Mason scored 19 in 19 minutes and he showed what he can do when his shot is going down (which it hasn't been all year). The Wizards had 5 players in double figures and everyone scored except for Mo Evans and Janet.
Speaking of Janet, why is our first round draft pick playing 5 minutes in a game for one of the worst teams in the league against one of the worst teams in the league? Are the Wizards just admitting they wasted the 6th pick.
McGee and Young were 2/3 of the problem, which means we still have the remaining third, Andray Blatche. At one point in the game Dray Day took one of his classic 17 foot jumpers, held his ugly follow through as he headed backwards toward the other end, and of course the shot was a terrible brick.
No rest for the Wizards, they play the Hawks tonight in the ATL. Not sure if NeNe will be there...
