Deshawn Part III: Sticking It In

Written By Chris C-Ford ---- Thursday, July 19, 2007

In honor of Deshawn Stevenson being re-signed for too much money, I feel it is only right to take a look back at some of the great DeShawn Stevenson moments of all time

After his first season in the NBA, Deshawn did what any NBA player would do. In 2001, He purchased alcohol for a 14 year old girl (Deshawn was 20), got her drunk, and stuck it in (consentualy). The following is a part from the CBC Sports article.

"(The 14-year-old) said it was voluntary," Unruh said. "The second thing she said was if she had not been so drunk, she probably would not have had sex with him."

Stevenson ended up in court and pleaded No Contest to statuatory rape. Normally a felony, the judge reduced it to a misdemeanor. His final punishment...community service! Doesn't seem to right, but I guess it is punishment...oh wait...This is from a great article that was in USA Today.

"It reads like the diary of a pro athlete: picked up by car service in Manhattan, N.Y., at 1 p.m.; whisked to dinner at a basketball camp in Teaneck, N.J.; posed for pictures and signed autographs; delivered motivational speech; back in New York City by 11.
But this isn't a typical celebrity schedule. It's the probation record for NBA player DeShawn Stevenson, showing how he served his criminal sentence of court-ordered community service for the statutory rape of a 14-year-old girl in 2001."

Ouch! Basketball camps, autograph sessions, He will never commit statuatory rape again if those are the punishments!

Now all that is over and he could get back to doing what he does best...wait what does he do best?
