Action News!

Written By Chris C-Ford ---- Saturday, September 8, 2007

For some reason the Wizards web site has a link to this article from a local ABC station in Philadelphia. The article ranks the top point guards in the NBA and has Gilbert Arenas at number one!

I am pretty confident and excited now that this station has ranked Gilbert number 1. I think the Wizards can take home the championship.

I would have to say that when I am looking for some great sports news, I usually turn look at these media sites in the following order.

1. ESPN.com
2. Philadelphia Channel 6 Action News Homepage
3. CBS Sportsline

Now being from DC, I always get my sports news and analysis from a local TV station web page in Philly. Watching their news is tough due to my location nowhere near Philadelphia, so I have to read their online coverage. And you have to think, who has better sports coverage than a station that still calls itself Action News. (at least its not Eyewitness News)

Not so fast, you ingrates. Public News Team is taking a break from its pledge drive to kick some ass. No commercials; no mercy.

In reality, it is linked because it is written by Brian McKitish, who writes about fantasy sports for ESPN and NBA.com. But thats not as funny. Still it was a bizarre place to link.

Oh and I missed the Ukraine Festival. Whoops...

Strange thing happened to me last Sunday night. I was interested in reading about Phil Mickelson winning the golf tournament and went to espn.com, cbssports.com, and washingtonpost.com. Each of the sites pointed to EXACTLY the same article about the golf tournament, done by an AP reporter. So much for choices. I think the future is that more and more sites will point to fewer and fewer sources of original material.
