Wizards Workouts Featuring Ty Lawson

UNC Champion guard Ty Lawson will be working out with the Wizards today according to Wizards Insider. This would be another moving down in the draft choice.

Ty Lawson is one of the more well known college players, thanks to the tournament last year, but at only 6 feet tall he is not going to be drafted til the late first round. Other guards at similar heights include:

• Raymond Felton (6'1")
• TJ Ford (6'0")
• DJ Augustin (6'0")
• Mike Conley (6'1")
• Aaron Brooks (6'0")
• Rajon Rondo (6'1")
• Chris Paul (6'0")
• Allen Iverson (5'10")

So is Lawson's height going to ruin his chances to be an NBA star? Not necessarily, but it will hurt his draft position.

In theory, the Wizards could use a point guard, but I'm not sure they are going to want to go small. Also, if Gilbert Arenas continues to think he is an assist type point guard, a pick like Lawson would not work well.

But it's just a workout...
