Rashard Lewis Has A Setback, Nobody Cares

With all the talk about JaVale McGee, Nick Young, and Andray Blatche, I forgot about the 4th Wizards player that should not have been on this roster in the beginning of the season;  Rashard Lewis.

Lewis makes about a billion dollars a year and had $45 Million left on his contract (vomits) at the beginning of the year.  This was a really bad contract for the Wizards, but it was caused by the Wizards paying Gilbert Arenas even more money.

Then one day a miracle happened.  The NBA decided that they would allow a team to delete one player's salary from their salary cap; the Amnesty Clause.  It was like they did it specifically for the Wizards.  Was it real?  Did the Wizards bribe David Stern?  Hallelujah!

So the time came for the Wizards to free up $45 Million to sign free agents and get rid of a player who had no NBA talent left in his system.  So obviously the Wizards exercised the Amnesty Clause...WAIT WHAT?  They didn't?

Like 95% of all moves the Wizards make, this was a terrible decision.  The Wizards will tell you some crap about a salary cap minimum and how there were no free agents out there that would help the team more than Lewis.  BS.

7.8 points per game.  Yeah I'm sure 2 younger free agents that brought the salary cap up to meet the minimum couldn't have combined for that.

Lewis played 28 games and has been hurt for a while.  I really forgot he was on the team.  The Wizards say they aren't sure when he will be able to return, but obviously the deal is simple.  Lewis needs to go home and never come back.
