Wizards Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Night At Nats Park

Written By Chris C-Ford ---- Thursday, August 2, 2012

A little experiment here.  Writing the same general story for two different sports on the same group of blogs.  Let's see what happens.  It's better if you read them side by side.

NATIONALS VERSION / WIZARDS VERSION

Dear Wizards fans,

Remember last year.  20 Wins.  I can't even believe that number and I am staring at it in the standings.  Just 20 wins.  The team won 8 out of their last 10 games, and they STILL only finished with 20 wins.

Now, it appears that the Washington Wizards want to help their season ticket holders forget what losing is all about.  That is why they are hosting a fan appreciation night at Nationals Park.

For those who are unfamiliar, let me tell you what the Nationals are all about.  First, they are a team.  They have a hyped-up 19 year old phenom, who is already an All-Star, but he stays humble. They are basically known for Suns Out Guns Out, not Guns Out Guns Out.

Wiz season ticket holders are invited to the August 21st game, a Tuesday night affair against the Atlanta Braves.  That game could have some big playoff implications for the Nationals, something Nats fans are ready for.

However, despite having being a good team, the Nationals were once a laughing stock.  They didn't have much talent but they were headed in the right direction. They even won a bunch of games that seemed meaningless at the end of last season.

Does that sound possible at all?  Terrible team.  Bad for years.  Big turnaround.

So Wiz fans take note.  The full stadium.  The lack of errors.  The winning streaks.  Someday those could be phrases that describe Washington Wizards games.

See you at Nats Park!
