Tomas Needs To Man Up

Tomas Satoransky is one of the luckiest people in the world.  He was drafted to play basketball for an NBA team in the United States of America, the best league with the best players in the entire universe (yes even better than the aliens from Space Jam).

Satoransky was drafted by the Wizards and Ernie Grunfeld with the idea that he would continue to play in his current professional league in Spain, improve his skills, and then join the Wizards in the near future.  (Although that is complete Wizards propaganda and the guy will probably never wear a Wizards uniform and probably won't ever play in the NBA).

One thing that stopped some Wizards fans from torching down the Verizon Center after draft day was the fact that they would be able to see this Czech prospect play against some of the young NBA talent in the Vegas Summer League.  Well, relight the torches because Tomas doesn't want to play.  (Instead he wants to stay in Czech Republic and practice with his country's Eurobasket team).

Yo Tommy.  Did you watch the Dream Team documentary?  Did you see the players on the other teams taking photos of the American stars from the bench during games!?  That is the kind of super-stardom that comes from playing in the NBA.  And you want to skip-out?  You were drafted by the NB-freaking-A!!!!

Satoransky, who turns 21 later this year, is one of the older players in the draft.  Next season in the NBA there will be 19 year olds making an impact, and he will be over in Europe trying to improve his scoring average from 4 points per game to 5.  Take a look at Bryce Harper.  Take a look at Anthony Davis.  These guys are 2 years younger than you are!  And look what they are doing.

Playing for one's country is definitely an honor...for the Olympics, or for the World Championships.  But for Eurobasket.  What the hell is Eurobasket?  If you want to be an NBA player, then come over to the United States, man up, and get dunked on.  Don't stay in Europe like a scared puppy named Swag.

I don't even know why I'm getting all fired up when I will never in my life see this guy play basketball.  But Man the F Up Tomas...or at least come over and join the Wizards Girls...And Ernie...what the f...i can't deal with this anymore...searching for a new favorite team.

Goodbye Rashard, Hello Ernie

Well, Ernie Grunfeld had a heck of a run as an awful GM.  But I don't know what hit him in the head towards the end of the season that has caused him to start making decent basketball moves.  (Notice I said "decent" and not "tough" or "good")  It was announced that the Wizards traded Rashard Lewis to the Hornets for Emeka Okafor & Trevor Ariza.

Now don't get me wrong, this isn't the greatest move in the history of sports.  But it does get a guy who is WAY past his prime in Rashard Lewis out of town.  And most importantly, it sets up the move to amnesty Andray Blatche (Don't f**k around Ted) and get him far away from DC.  Win-Win!  Oh I guess they got some players too.

All that for a guy I wanted the team to just amnesty or cut outright!  I honestly have no idea who in their right mind would want Rashard Lewis.

Ernie started the housework by clearing out Nick Young & JaVale McGee towards the end of last season.  He even got a decent piece in Nene in the deal.  Although if he got a bag of peanuts for those 2 guys I'd still love the trade.  (But only if they were Planters sillies)  Rashard was next, and all that remains is 7 Day Dray...

So today you can call me Art Vandalay.  I am going to quit the importing and focus on the exporting.  Tommorow I'll get the line right and talk about Okafor & Ariza.

J Reid Sticks A Dagger In Ernie Grunfeld, Rightfully So

Jason Reid of the Washington Post has had enough as well.  In his latest article he describes how Grunfeld failed by not trading the three stooges (McGee, Young, Blatche) sooner.  I have a few other reasons. 

June 25th, 2009.  That was the date I was finished with Ernie Grunfeld.  That was almost 3 years ago. On that date, Ernie got rid of a top 5 draft pick to bring in Randy Foye and Mike Miller, two below mediocre NBA players who ended up doing absolutely nothing for the Wiz.

Many people now are looking back at that draft and seeing that the Wizards could have drafted Ricky Rubio, who was on pace to possibly be the rookie of the year before he got injured.  I agreed with the move to not take Rubio and at the time many people agreed.  

However, Steph Curry, who was a college superstar, amazing shooter, and a guy who could put a team on his shoulders with no fear was available at the 5th pick.  Ernie passed him up and I was done.  If you don't belive me check out this post pre-draft.

Then, in the 2nd round of that same draft, Ernie passed on another amazing college player who was shockingly available at pick #32, DeJuan Blair.  Instead he decided to take Jermaine Taylor.  Anyone know what team he is on?  Nope.

Steph Curry is a career 17.5 PPG scorer and he would have been SOOOO much better than Mike Miller, Randy Foye, and Nick Young combined.

Then in 2011 Ernie went psycho.  Janet Vesely.  What the hell was that.  The guy doesn't even get minutes on the Wizards who are one of the worst teams ever.  He should have been fired that day, passing up on guys like Brandon Knight and Kemba Walker.  

I could write a hell of a lot more in this post but I just don't want to remember all the bad times...Pecherov...stop...stop writing...stop remembering...
